Folio Four - Concatenation
Find out what happens next!
This week’s Calendar of the Soul is a re-mix from last year. It was with this original post that I realized that ‘people were looking at my folios’ - “Sumwoman” commented something like ‘is that (the above) a digital image or organic?.’ I was amazed. It is mostly an organic picture of painted glass, but I ‘tweaked the blue’ to better contrast it with text for a flyer, after which, I lost the original.
The last chorus goes something like “Come away, said the river to the leaves on the the trees, come away said the river, come and sleep now with me.” These words belong to one of the first songs I learned in kindergarten.
I wrote this week’s song in 2012 for a young musician who wanted lyrics that were reminiscent of the then popular song, “Delilah.” The pictures in the video are of statues (mostly) representing Athena, Hera, Aphrodite, and Achilles. By the end of the video you could get the idea that Achilles is at least partially to blame, but no - guilt lies squarely on the shoulders of Paris (which is to say ‘all men’ but we can see Achilles himself is excepted if we read Steiner’s notes from the top of the folio).
For those familiar with the story - or who listened to the video about “Achilles” - note the imagery of ‘the apple’ which Aphrodite is holding, the slight contempt on Hera’s face, and Athena’s outstretched hand. We have to sort out these things as humanity - we’ve come a long way, but still have a ways to go.
For those unfamiliar with the story - please note that the woman holding the baby upside down by the ankle is, in fact, performing a benevolent ritual to make him immortal (spoiler alert in the previous frame).

I tried so hard to train myself not to pay attention to 'likes' or any kind of statistics - but I have to say - getting a 'like' from just a handful of you is worth thousands (at least) in the realm of minions and factions.
Mood Greek. What's really weird about this is I started thinking about Achilles out of the blue yesterday. The melody/rhythm of the song kind of reminded me of the song Heroes. I was wondering where you were. I figured you were getting ready for your big prom date.
