Thank you, QA! A couple of days ago I saw that "Hopi Man in the Maze" here on Substack - did you see that one too? I liked it very much, thanks for bringing that up. It was not consciously related to that image - that artwork was from around last year's post. I took a photo of a Celtic design and added the colors from a couple of paintings I had done (similar technique used in the figure below - that came from an alchemical text).
Oh no, no - not on Substack. The Man in the Maze is a very dear symbol to me. As you know, I lived in N. Arizona for 4 years. Hopi country. Been to the mesas. Tim has a Hopi ring with that symbol on it. He wore it so much the shank cracked in two. We loved Hopi jewelry and art.
OK, here’s one of those stories. My favorite cat, Leo, I ever had was with us his last year in Sedona. When he died, I had a wooden coffin made for him which I carved his name on. To bury him, we took off to the desert wilderness behind our house a ways, and I stopped at an arbitrary site - and said, here! Tim started digging, and right at the spot he dug up a silver Man in the Maze button. I knew Leo was transmuting, was returning as a human. Still have that button.
Thank you so much for sharing that story - you have the most wonderful collection of 'threshold' experiences. Well I guess this counts as an interesting coincidence then! I just heard about this "Man in the Maze" for the first time a couple days ago - the post compared the image to a labyrinth in a Gothic Cathedral.

I think it's good to realize and honor that feeling of needing to rest and recharge. I hope the geugh runs off or dries up soon.
